Varun Dhawan-Kiara Advani featured ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ is available on various torrent sites a few hours after the theatrical release on Friday.
After a series of hurdles and challenges, the anticipated title from Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani finally hit theaters yesterday and garnered rave reviews from initial audiences. However, more bad news awaited the family comedy, as the film fell victim to piracy.
According to reports, the high-quality version of the Bollywood title has been made available for viewing on several torrent sites, within hours of the theatrical release.
According to Indian media, the version is available to watch on a number of illegal online sites including ‘Tamilrockers’ and ‘Movierulz’ while it is also available for download on several Telegram groups.
Although the film does not compete with any other major box office release, this hacking success may affect entire collections.
The film started off decently with a first-day collection totaling INR 9.28 crore, making it Bollywood’s 5th highest opening of the year.
‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, also includes comedian Maniesh Paul and YouTube creator Prajakta Koli. The film was directed and written by Raj Mehta and Rishabh Sharma respectively.
Bollywood producer-filmmaker Karan Johar backed the project under his “Dharma Productions” production banner.
