Chennai (Tamilnadu) [India]Sep 15 (ANI): The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is set to launch an industry-focused online certificate program on e-mobility for working professionals.

The certificate program was designed with input from industry experts and would be continuously updated based on technology trends, market trends, and industry needs.

A unique feature of the course is that four of the nine program modules will have industry professionals delving deeper into the content.

“We announced our Dual Degree in EV Engineering late last year – a program only for our BTech students. Since then there have been many inquiries from friends of industry and supporters regarding a need re-skilling or upgrading their existing employees as the automotive industry rapidly migrates large volumes to electric vehicles in the coming years,” said V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras.

IIT Madras will continue to rapidly expand its presence in the e-mobility space and will primarily target remote delivery using state-of-the-art technology for professionals who require flexibility and relevance, Kamakoti added.

The course, offered by the Digital Awareness and Education Center (CODE) at IIT Madras, will provide an overview of the e-mobility ecosystem as well as basics in technical areas such as development vehicles, power electronics, battery engineering, thermal management, powertrains, among other areas.

September 30, 2022 is the last date to register for the batch which will start on October 2, according to a press release.
